Video: Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT 3) Modernization

Propoint Technology partnered with the Office of Technology and Solutions Integration (OTSI) and the Department of Social Services (CDSS) to help the State of California transition its EBT services—ensuring millions of residents continued to receive vital public assistance without interruption. Subsequently with Propoint’s help, the team implemented a client self-service application, allowing clients to control how their card is used and protect themselves against fraudulent activity. 

 

Thanks to the collaboration with these state departments and Propoint’s expertise, California achieved a seamless EBT transition. Our support was integral to California being the first in the nation to implement these Chip/Tap cards and:

 

  • Millions of benefit recipients experienced no disruption in service,
  • Thousands of retailers and farmers’ markets were prepared and trained, and 
  • The state’s team gained valuable knowledge and support for future operations
